Participation in ASEAN-China Joint Cultural Performances: Connectivity in Diversity On 26-29 December 2017 in Siem Reap Province, the Kingdom of Cambodia

Performers from Bunditpatanasilpa Institute, Ministry of Culture, attended ASEAN-China Joint Cultural Performance: Connectivity in Diversity, which aimed to foster the awareness of the youth in ASEAN and China of ASEAN-Chinese Cooperation. This project was part of the 25th anniversary of ASEAN-Chinese relationship in 2016 and was approved by the leaders of the 18th ASEAN-China Summit held on 21 November 2016 in Malaysia. The activities under the project included discussion meetings, visits to cultural sites and cultural performances.

The event was part of celebration of ASEAN-China relationship and responded to the continuous work of Ministry of Culture for promoting cultural cooperation and connection under ASEAN-Chinese Cooperation, especially government-government and public-public cultural connection and interaction. In addition, participation of delegates from Ministry of Culture could enhance the good image of Thailand and promote Thai culture to be internationally known.

On 28 December 2016, Mr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia and Mr. Tan Qingsheng, Chargé d'affaires of Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, and 700 diplomats from ASEAN embassies in Cambodia and the public participated in the opening ceremony. This was considered as a success in Thai cultural promotion.
